Synchronizing Tracks
Synchronization is the primary function of SuperSync. It
allows you to grab and play music files from different libraries,
either locally (on your machine's hard drive) or remotely.
Files that reside on Remote Libraries are
available for synchronization with your Local Library. Tracks can be selected for
synchronization by selecting the file and then clicking either the Get, Put, or Sync button in the SuperSync window. You can also access these commands by right-clicking a track and selecting the Get, Put, or Sync actions. Multiple files can be selected in a range by holding down Shift while clicking or by individually added to the selected group by
holding down
Command (CTRL on Windows) when clicking.
During the synchronization process, SuperSync copies the
selected track(s) into the designated your library (Remote or Local depending on which direction the track is being copied). The
status of this transfer is displayed in the Transfer Status Window that opens when you begin a Sync action. This window can also be displayed by
pressing
+T or selecting Transfer Status from SuperSync's FILE menu.
Synchronizing Playlists
Syncing playlists between two iTunes libraries is basically a two step process in SuperSync. You must first sync your music so it exists on both of your computers. Next, you'll use the 'Synchronize Playlist' command to sync the playlists and finish this process.
Step 1:
Use SuperSync to connect to another SuperSync computer.
Step 2:
Once connected, you'll see locate your playlist in SuperSync's Sources List (left-most column in SuperSync).
Note: Unsync'ed playlists will appear with either a Gray icon (these are on your computer) or a Blue icon (those on the other computer). The goal is to see a Green icon (a playlist that is sync'ed on both computers).
Step 3:
Select the playlist you want to Sync. This will either be a blue icon or a gray icon. Next select the SYNC command from SuperSync's ACTION menu. This will sync the tracks in that playlist to both computers. Proceed to Step 4.
Step 4:
Select the playlist again and then select the SYNC PLAYLIST command from SuperSync's ACTION menu to create the sync'ed playlist.
Step 5:
At this point, the playlists are synchronized on both of your computers and your playlist icon will appear as green in SuperSync. If you switch over to iTunes, you'll notice that the playlist is there as well.
